Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. is working on another small car for India, which is expected to be rolled out in a span of 2-3 years.
According to Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Vice President-Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India, “The company is designing a hatchback, which will be a little smaller than its upcoming model Jazz. It is purely designed for the Indian consumers and would carry a price tag lower than that of the Jazz.
The Honda Jazz from the premium small car segment will hit the Indian roads by mid 2009. Initially, the Jazz will be rolled out from company’s Greater Noida factory and will be later moved to the production base in Rajasthan in the second phase.
Honda’s Greater Noida plant hold the production capacity of one-lakh units an annum and the company will also be making an investment of about Rs 1,000 crore for its Rajasthan factory, which is anticipated to be complete by 2009 end.
