Following the footsteps of global car manufacturers like General Motors, Ford, Renault-Nissan, Toyota, Maruti Suzuki, Mitsubishi, and Hyundai, PSA Peugeot- Citroën also plans to enter the small car stable.

Peugeot plans to roll out a small and low-cost car by 2011. This upcoming car is expected to have good space for luggage and stowage. Accommodating five people, the car will have five doors. The company’s first target to introduce this small car is emerging markets like India and China. It may even roll out hybrid versions, as hybrid cars are higher in demands these days. By 2011, the demands and requirements of these cars will definitely go towards a higher scale.

According to industry reports, PSA Peugeot-Citroen's low cost car is expected to be assembled in Turkey or Poland. Apart from India and China, the car will also make its debut in the various other car markets including Eastern Europe, Central Europe, Russia, Africa, Turkey, and South America.

Peugeot Citroen is currently looking out for more possibilities to re-enter the Indian car market with a slew of launches in different car segments. It also has plans to establish a component sourcing base in India.
