After a long period of violence due to the land seizure issues, Tata Motors has finally shifted its dream Nano project to Gujarat.
Though various states had supported the project, Ratan Tata chooses the site at Sanand in Gujarat because he feels that the overwhelming offer from the Gujarat Government is in the best interest of the Nano project.
The integrated project comprises an area of about 1100 acres including the mother plant and vendor project. The offered site is more than enough for the company to expand the production upto 500,000 cars per annum. The collaboration of vendor facilities and service providers will also generate nearly about 10,000 market jobs.
In Gujarat, farmers unlike those of West Bengal are happy to support the Nano project in all aspects. Some of them are even ready to give their land for construction of roads leading to the plant site. Not even a single farmer has opposed the entry of Nano to Ahmedabad. People there have a strong feel that the upcoming project will bring industrial progress to the country.
Speaking at the announcement, Ratan Tata said that the site in Gujarat will help Tata Motors to establish a new dedicated mother plant in the shortest possible time and with least incremental cost. According to him, the company is happy to contribute to the industrial growth of the state.
Ratan Tata is happy to make Gujarat a new home for its dream project.
