Ford Motors has plans to roll out a small car in India by early 2010.

In response to the expected target, the company has made an investment in the Indian market. It also desires to start its new engine-making unit and double the production capacity to meet the increasing demand of the car consumers.

The new small car by Ford is expected to be designed by a global team exclusively for the Indian car market. The design, specification and technicalities of the car will be in line with the Indian road and weather conditions like water wading, emission standards, air-conditioning and uneven roads.

The company also comments on the engine technology and claims that it will have the best technology powered with a 1.2-litre engine. The length of the car will be smaller to avoid taxes.

Ford claims the car to a big bang in the industry, leading the competition in the small car segment. Further to that, the company also plans to roll out a revamped version of Ford Ikon in order to expand its car range and offer more to its customers. Till date, the company has a 30 percent share in India's automobile market segments but is not satisfied. So, it also plans to enter other segments and have a better share value and presence in India.
