Ford, the US car manufacturer introduces two new version of its most successful car, Ford Ikon. The company has recently introduced a new petrol version and a diesel counterpart of the Ikon in India, priced at Rs 4.59 lakh and Rs 5.19 lakh (ex-showroom-Delhi), respectively.
The diesel variant is powered with a 1.4 litre DuraTorq TDCi engine, whereas the petrol version with an advanced 1.3 litre RoCam engine. Ford also offers two best powertrains to India completely adjusted and tailored to suit Indian conditions. These powerful engines will deliver enhanced power, performance and fuel-efficiency.
The company has even made significant changes in the car interiors of both the variants including impressive adornments and a pack of advanced safety features. These new Ikon variants are artistically designed and crafted to deliver a perfect blend of impressive appeal, enhanced performance, unmatched safety, and comfortable ride. The new car is available in 7 colour options – Brush steel, Morello, Diamond White, Panther Black, Paprika Red, Platinum, and Moondust Silver.
After introducing the new car variants, Mr. Michael Boneham, the Ford India President, also announced its $500-million investment plan in India aimed at establishing a new engine plant in the country and a manufacturing facility in Chennai.
Though the global recession is on cards, the Ford India still holds the confidence the success of its models and also desires to be a big part of the Indian car industry.
