The economic turmoil has taken its toll over the entire car industry. It has now taken the India’s oldest car manufacturer, Hindustan Motors, in its grip.
The sales of the Hindustan Ambassador have dipped by 33% in the past few months. According to an industry resource, Ambassador had a sales number of about 900 cars every month. Unfortunately, this number has now dropped to 600 per month.
One of the company official said that the company has no plans to shut down the production plant. It is now hunting for ways and measures to combat the economic crisis if a similar situation continues for a longer period of time.
He also stated that the company has no plans to cut down price of the Amby in order to boost sales. Hindustan is just waiting for the right time and opportunity to push sales.
