With just two months left for the launch of Mahindra’s much-hyped, next-gen electric car — the Reva NXR, the company is planning aggressively to expand its line-up by adding five more electric cars to its product portfolio. The Reva NXR is due for release sometime around Diwali.
The Mahindra Group Company is eying to launch five new electric models, three from Mahindra platforms and two from Reva, by 2016. All the electric cars will be endowed with top-class technology features.
Commenting on the plans, Chetan Maini, chief technology and strategy officer, Mahindra Reva said, “We are currently working on five models for launch in the next four years. Our aim is to launch one new vehicle or a new variant every year till 2016. We are right now doing the trial run of Mahindra Verito, Gio and Maxximo from the Mahindra platforms.”
Maini further informed that the new Mahindra Reva NXR will be christened at the time of launch and will be priced at least 20 per cent higher than the existing REVAi.
