Mahindra & Mahindra launched its much-anticipated compact sub-4 meter compact UV Quanto in a grand and glitzy pan Indian launch event at ITC Grand, Mumbai on Thursday, September 20.
Launched in four trims — C2, C4, C6 and C8 and competitively priced between Rs 5.82 lakh to Rs. 7.36 lakh, the brand new, seven-seater SUV Quanto from Mahindra’s stables is set to give other premium hatchbacks a run for their money.
Indigenously designed and developed by Mahindra & Mahindra, this mini-SUV, based on Xylo’s ladder-frame platform, is hopped up by a new and improved version of the mHawk diesel engine, now called as the mCR100. This 1493cc unit unleashes 98.6bhp and 239 Nm of torque mated to a five-speed gearbox.
The C8, which is the top-of-the-line variant, comes rigged with alloy wheels, driver seat height adjust, a smart Digital Drive Assist System (DDAS), integrated audio system with CD, MP3 and radio, a rear defogger, ABS, front airbags (driver and passenger), fog lamps and a reverse parking sensor.
The C6 trim also boasts of similar specifications, albeit it misses out on alloy wheels, reverse parking sensor and airbags. Mahindra’s Micro Hybrid technology is common across all variants save for the base C2 variant.
Mahindra has plans to take its Quanto to the markets of Europe, South Africa and Chile as the product grows.
