The sporty version of the Mercedes Benz C Class and E Class is all set to parade Indian roads. Mercedes is planning to roll out these models as the Grand Prix fever has started to intoxicate F1 fans across the country. The sports editions of Mercedes Benz C Class 220 CDI and Mercedes Benz E Class CDI will have AMG body style.
Both C Class and E Class cars are an important part of the Mercedes product range in India. The models have been sold in large numbers and it has large number of fans most of them being youngsters. The company believes that the sporty versions carrying an aggressive theme would arrest more and more youngsters into the Mercedes fan base.
Both C Class and E Class cars get the AMG body styling which includes front and rear bumper aprons, skirts and also the blackened roof and a SPORT label. The C Class gets a 17 inch 5 twin spoke alloy wheels while the E Class gets a regular 5 spoke alloy wheel which is 18 inch in dimension.
The brand known for its luxury cars has obviously worked on the trims and comfort level in the interior. Both the C Class and E Class sports models get the Artico upholstery. The C Class has black piano lacquer trims and the E Class uses burr walnut wood trim to improve the visual richness of the interior.
Both the models get a 2143 cc engine which delivers 170 bhp at 3000 – 4200 rpm and 400 nm of torque at 1400 – 2800 rpm. This massive power gets amplified through a 7Gtronic automatic transmission unit. Such a powerful and dynamic car does require few technical devices to control it. Brake Assist, ABS, ESP Anti - Slip Regulation systems form an equipment base that puts the action of the wheels under the control of driver.
