The award is honored to companies and individuals who have made major contributions and achievements in the field of Total Quality Management.

Swaraj which is a subdivision of FES (Farm Equipment Sector) of the Mahindra and Mahindra group has won the prestigious award for quality this year. Mr. Bishwambhar Mishra, the chief executive, Tractor and Farm Mechanization Business, FES will be receiving this award on behalf of Swaraj on 14th November 2012. The award presentation ceremony will be held in Tokyo Japan.

Tractor manufacturing division of the company had won the same award back in 2003. However, this time the award is presented to Swaraj division which is based at Mohali. This division was acquired by the company from government of Punjab in 2007.

Mahindra cars in India have been known for their reliability. This award which is presented to one of the divisions of Mahindra parent company can surely encourage the car manufacturing division to aim for quality improvement.

TVS Motor Company and Rane Engine Valve Ltd are two automotive firms which have received Deming award earlier. Some quality based technological changes in the production line and quality improvements on new Mahindra cars can take the car manufacturing division to the list of award winners in future.
