SEMA awards for the leading vehicle models from four categories were announced at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. The award for the hottest car was bagged by Ford Mustang, the Scion FR-S won the hottest Sport Compact, the Ford F-Series won the hottest Truck and the best SUV car (4x4) award was given to Jeep Wrangler.
SEMA Show, the trade show organized by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), serves as the leading venue bringing closer the manufacturers and buyers within the automotive specialty equipment industry. A list of products that enhance the functionality, styling, convenience, comfort and safety of cars and trucks are featured at the SEMA show. The SEMA award is given to the vehicle models that can be accessorized and that showcase the year’s coolest products.
Chris Kersting, SEMA president and CEO said, “The SEMA Show has always been about innovative products and trends. The SEMA Award amplifies the industry’s special ability to identify and set trends that consumers follow. Our SEMA Show exhibitors are industry visionaries who determine the winners of the SEMA Award based on the vehicles they showcase in their booths. Each booth vehicle represents a ‘vote’ and the most prominent models in each category are the winners.”
More than 2,000 exhibiting companies were featured in the 2012 SEMA Show. These companies manufacture products which are designed to enhance performance, convenience, safety, appearance and comfort of every make and model. The exhibitors are investing more in Ford Mustang, Scion FR-S, Ford F-Series, and Jeep Wrangler as compared to other vehicles.
