Audi Ventures Into Pre-Owned Car Business

By Motortrend India Staff   |   29 November,2012

Now owning an Audi in India gets easier and more economical than ever! The Germany-based auto company has announced a special pre-owned car programme for India called the ‘Audi Approved Plus’ that will be launched by December 2012 end. This would be first-of-its-kind of programme in India from the house of the Volkswagen-owned luxury car makers.

Sources tell us that all the Audi Approved Plus showrooms will put up 8-10 pre-owned Audis, about 4-5 years old that would cost you half the price of the brand-new Audis. In fact, a pre-owned basic 2009 model A4 diesel saloon in the Audi pre-owned outlets will cost anywhere between Rs 18-19 lakh compared to Rs 30.10 lakh. The Audi dealers have plans to set up their Approved Plus showrooms adjacent to the new ones, or in the same vicinity.

This decision comes hot on the heels of the recent price hike of Audi cars in India that will be implemented from January 2013 onwards.

“The overall market scenario is challenging. The rise in input cost, depreciating rupee as well as continuous increase in fuel prices have made us re-evaluate our pricing strategy in India and increase the prices of the entire range. However, we are offering customers innovative and customized finance options from Audi Finance which will make their purchase more attractive,” said Michael Perschke, head, Audi India.
