Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), showed a dip of 26 percent in the sale in the month of November 2012 as compared to the sale in November 2011. TKM has sold 10,352 units last month as compared to 13,956 units in the corresponding month last year.
Innova has shown a rise of 9 percent with 4682 units being sold in the last month as compared to 4,308 units sold in November 2011. There has been 19 percent hike in the sale of Fortuner with 1,025 units sold in November 2012 as compared to 860 units sold in the same month last year. Last month, 4,231 units of Etios series were sold whereas 8,271 units were sold in November 2011.Corolla Altis sold 362 units and Camry sold 46 units last month.
Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Marketing, said, "The sales have dropped this month due to a plant shut down, to ramp up the annual production capacity from 2,10,000 units to 3,10,00 units, for the next calendar year. The first plant manufacturing Innova and Fortuner was shut down for a week and the second plant manufacturing Etios, Etios Liva and Camry was shut down for a period of 15 days. The market is yet to pick up pace. We hope to see growth next month due to the year ending sales. The market is expected to grow in the first quarter of next year."
