South Korean car manufacturer SsangYong which is a subsidiary of Mahindra group disclosed its sales account for November month of 2012. Figures show an increase in sales by about 33 percent when it was compared with sales outputs of November 2011. The company has also been successful in being able to maintain a growing trend of sales in comparison with previous months.
Kornado C SUV has been the leader of the chart for SsangYong during November 2012. About 44 percent of the vehicles sold from SsangYong were Kornado C models. Domestic sales of Kornado C in South Korea during the month were nearly two times in comparison with numbers November 2011. SsangYong Rexton had 25 percent growth in sales when two months of previous and current years were compared.
The export of these SUVs has increased phenomenally, selling about 3538 units of Kornado C and 515 units of Rexton models. Monthly export has grown by 7.4 percent during November compared to previous month and gasoline automatic transmission models of Kornado C have played a key role in these figures.
Speaking about the growth in sales, Mr. Lee Yoo-il, CEO of SsangYong Motors said, “The company’s sales recorded an increase in both domestic sales and exports thanks to a differentiated marketing strategy and launch of face-lifted models reflecting customer needs. We will further increase our global sales by reinforcing our export product line-up and launching refreshed models on a continuous basis.”
Parent company of SsangYong, Mahindra and Mahindra had released SsangYong Rexton few weeks ago. The car is sold 2.7L engine options and is positioned in high end SUV segment competing with Captiva, Endeavour, Santa Fe and other similar models.
