Hyundai Motors India Pvt. Ltd. (HMIL) has registered aggregate sales of 34,751 units (57,071 units). Hyundai Motors India Pvt. Ltd. (HMIL), the country's second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter, registered a domestic sale of 34,751 units (35,000 units) and exports of 21,011 units (22,071 units).
While addressing the November sales, Mr Rakesh Srivastava, Vice President- Marketing and Sales, HMIL, said, "The adverse market conditions due to high interest rates and inflation continued to pose challenges for growth. Increased diesel fuel price temporarily affected the strong momentum of diesel car sales. However, the festival season stimulated sales of petrol cars. Eon demand continues to grow month on month leading to supply challenges."
From the A2 segment which comprises of Eon, Santro, i10 and i20, 48,650 units were sold in the last month. In the A3 segment that includes Accent and Verna, 6,526 units were sold whereas 513 units of A4 segment comprising of Elantra were sold in November 2012. From the A5 segment which comprises of Sonata, 20 units were sold whereas 53 units of the SUV (Santa Fe) were sold in the month of November 2012.
In the span from January 2012 to November 2012, HMIL registered a growth of 4.65 percent in the aggregate sales ie. 593,448 units as compared to the span from January 2011 to November 2011 which was 567,090 units. The domestic sales were reported as 364,579 units in Jan.2012 to Nov.2012 whereas it was 344,193 units in the span from January 2011 to November 2011 which depicts a hike of 5.92 percent. The exports for Jan-Nov,2012 was 228,869 units whereas for Jan-Nov,2011 it was 222,897 units showing a growth of 2.68 percent.
