The four ringed luxury car maker, Audi, has declared that there will be hike in prices on all its models by up to Rs 3.69 lakh. The increase in prices will be effective from 1st January, 2013 to combat the rising input costs and falling rupee.
While commenting on this, Michael Perschke, Audi India head said, "As we have stated earlier, the overall market scenario is challenging. The rise in input cost, depreciating rupee as well as continuous increase in fuel prices have made us re-evaluate our pricing strategy in India and increase the prices of our entire model range."
Audi India, last month, had said that there will be hike in prices of its entire range of models by up to five percent from next year, but have not mentioned the details like how much will be the increase in price for each model.
The company, also added that the increase in prices would vary from Rs 59,000 to Rs 3,69,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) across the model range from 1st January 2013. The various models of Audi running on Indian roads are sedans A4, A6 and A8, sports utility vehicles Q3, Q5 and Q7 and sports car R8. At present these are priced between Rs 27.85 lakh and Rs 1.7 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi).
