Renowned SUV manufacturer of India, Mahindra boosts its production volume from this month. The company is doing this to meet domestic demand and to shorten waiting period. The auto maker will raise the production volume of XUV500 from 4,000 units to 4500 units per month. The company will be producing 3,500 units of Quanto and 500 units of SsangYong Rexton per month.

Mahindra Quanto, which was launched four months ago, registered over 12,000 units booking within two months of its launch. XUV500 has been one of the top sellers for the company right from the day it was rolled out. The SUV giant has plans to increase the number of booking centers for these models in the country. Mahindra exports its XUV500 to Australia and countries of Africa. The company aims at increasing global presence by expanding its export.

Mr. Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. spoke about the production expansion saying, “While we have been overwhelmed at the response from our customers to all the three products which are at different price points, we thought it best to expand capacities so that prospective customers are not inconvenienced with long waiting periods. Being a customer centric company, we have always wanted our products to be conveniently available to our customers with a minimum waiting period. In addition, with their launch across more centres in India, we are sure that that our products will continue to offer a unique value proposition for buyers.”
