Rochi Engineers Joins Forces with Germany———s PURItech

Pune-based Rochi Engineers entered into a joint venture with Germany’s PURItech GmbH & Co. KG, the leading international supplier of Diesel Emission Control Products and Filter Cleaning Devices, today. The JV was designed by ALCOR M&A team part of ALCOR Fund. The Joint Venture agreement was signed by Mr. Pradeep Kharkar (CEO, Rochi Engineers) and Mr. Bernhard Kahlert (MD, PURItech GmbH & Co.KG) in the attendance of Mr. Gautam Kharkar & Mr. Saurabh Kharkar (Partners Rochi Engineers), Mr. Erwin Stern (CFO, PURItech) and Mr. George Molakal (CEO, ALCOR Fund).

The new found company in Pune will have an R&D centre and a high-tech manufacturing facility in and is expected to be completed by 2014. The Joint Venture company will Design and Manufacture Emission Control Systems for Diesel Engines like: Diesel Particulate Filters, Diesel Oxydation Catalyst Systems, Catalytic Convertors, Filter Cleaning and Detection Devices. The products will benefit the first-fit and retro-fit markets for on-road, off-road vehicles and power gen-set industry in India and abroad.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pradeep Kharkar, CEO, Rochi Engineers said “We are excited about our association with PURItech. The new JV combines the strong brand, long term experience and ethical values of both the companies and would deliver quality products to sell globally. We wish to serve global customers with advanced technology and low cost manufacturing.”

“Diesel fumes are affecting the human life and can cause cancer, hence it is necessary to control emissions and give cleaner to air for future generations” he added.

Mr. Bernhard Kahlert, CEO, PURItech GmbH & Co. KG, said “We are looking forward to our new relationship and have planned for profitable growth in the new JV. We are excited of the potential for expansion in the Indian and Asian markets. Pune is an ideal location to set up our new plant because the city provides a strong infrastructure and a rich talent pool of skilled workforce in the automotive sector.”

Mr. George Molakal, CEO, ALCOR Fund stated, “We are happy today on the signing-up of the new JV between Rochi Engineers and PURItech GmbH & Co.KG.
