Just two days after the images of BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo were leaked all across the internet, the German automobile marque has officially released the first images of the taller and more powerful 3-Series GT that is slated to make its official debut in the Geneva Motor Show on March 5, 2013.
The five-seat 3-Series GT has been modeled after the larger 5-Series GT and fuses the dynamics of the 3-series saloon with the expediency of the 3-series Touring and the looks of a coupé. The new BMW will come with five engine options including a 302bhp 335i range-topper. The new 3-Series GT is expectedly 17mm wider, 200mm longer, and 79mm taller than the 3-series Touring. And the longer wheelbase just means more legroom for rear passengers, much more than the 5-series saloon. BMW has bumped up the boot capacity up to 520 liters. And a low-loading lip and wide boot opening just adds to the space.
The 3-series GT looks much sleeker than the bulky 5-series GT. A slanting roofline, frameless doors and an active rear spoiler that automatically rises at speeds above 68mph are other new additions to the new BMW.
