Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer, Yamaha has seen 19 percent growth in sales during the month of February 2013 as compared to its sales figures of same month of 2012. The introduction of Ray scooter into the product line-up has helped the company boost its sales.
The company sold 32,097 units in February 2013 as against 27,050 units sold in February last year in the domestic markets thereby registering a domestic sales growth of 19 percent. In the export markets the company sold 15,393 vehicles in February 2013 as compared to 13,605 vehicles in the same month last year achieving a growth of 13 percent. The overall sales stood at 47,490 units in February 2013 while 40,655 units were sold in February 2012, thereby registering a 17 percent overall growth.
Yamaha Motors introduced the Ray scooter to Indian market in September, 2012. The auto marque has come out with fresh marketing campaigns to reach more and more customers. The female riding training programme has gained popularity in last few months. The company also has plans to expand its network in the country by opening new dealerships.
