SLS AMG, from the stables of Mercedes-Benz, broke the lap record and acquired the top position of the fastest lap set by any production car at the Buddh International Circuit. The fastest lap timing set by any production car is at 2 minutes 14.521 seconds. The super car was driven by AMG Driving Instructor Norman Simon and ace German Driver. As the SLS AMG epitomizes pure fascination and embodies pinnacle of automotive technology, it is chosen as the Official Safety Car for Formula 1 Grand Prix Championships.

Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “We are extremely thrilled with the feat the SLS AMG accomplished on the Buddh International Circuit. The car has proved its mettle time and time again across major racing tracks of the world and it is only fitting that in India too, it holds the title of the fastest lap achieved by a production car. Mercedes-Benz has a very dominant presence in the racing and motorsports arena, and this lineage is evident in our vehicle design and technology, both performance and aesthetics. The SLS AMG is the epitome of these elements making it the best in sportiness and fascination that Mercedes-Benz offers.”

SLS AMG with its stunning design and exquisite technology is reminiscent of the legendary 300 SL sports car of the 1950s. Among the highlights of the SLS AMG are its aluminium space-frame body, AMG 6.3-litre V8 front mid-engine with 420 kW (571 hp) and 650 nm of torque, seven-speed dual clutch transmission in a transaxle arrangement and aluminium double-wishbone sports suspension. This high-tech combination guarantees the ultimate thrill in performance driving and leaves a fascinating impression on any automotive enthusiast who has ever driven the SLS AMG.
