The year old Dharwad Plant of Tata Motors was conferred with the ‘State Level Safety Award’ at the 42nd National Safety Day Celebration, hosted by the Government of Karnataka. The Plant bagged the award, introduced by the Department of Factories, Boilers, Industrial Safety & Health, for its exceptionable safety culture.
Mr. Asit Ojha, (Head - Technical Services, Tata Motors Dharwad), Mr. Ravi Kulkarni, (Head – HR, Tata Motors Dharwad) and senior staff members received the award on behalf of the plant from Mr. N.C. Muniyappa, IAS, Principal secretary to Government - Labour Department, Government of Karnataka. Renowned actor-director and green activist Mr. Suresh Heblikar, Environmentalist Mr. Yellappa Reddy, and dignitaries from Government of Karnataka and industry representatives were present during the occasion.
This recognition has been bestowed on Tata Motors Dharwad in its very first year of operations. The facility has developed and maintained a safety culture in a short span, through continuous safety training programmes.
