J.D. Power and Associates, a US based company which provides marketing information services, announced its awards in India for 2012. As per the survey conducted by the company during the year 2012 it was Hyundai Santro which came out as the Most Dependable Compact Car and Best Compact Car in Initial Quality. In premium compact car segment Hyundai i20 won the award for dependability and Honda Brio made it for its initial quality. Chevrolet Spark and Maruti Suzuki Estilo compact cars shared the title for their appeal.
Among the entry-level midsize cars it was the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire which stole limelight for dependability and initial quality. Hyundai Verna and Honda City won the awards in mid-size segment for dependability and quality respectively.
Toyota took home many awards in the SUV and MUV segment. One of the highest selling cars of Toyota in Indian market, the Innova was ranked the best in all three categories - quality, dependability and appeal. Toyota Fortuner managed to bag titles for its appeal and quality while Honda CR-V went home as the Most Dependable SUV.
