By Motortrend India Staff   |   21 March,2013

Hindustan Motors, one of the oldest automobile makers of India, is now prepared to give its Ambassador a new engine. This car will address the problems which are associated with the current model, the major one being the engine is not BS IV compliant. The company has prepared itself to bring a diesel engine which agrees to BS IV norms. HM may launch this new version by the month of July, 2013.

The auto maker also has plans to come out with a compact version of the iconic Ambassador. The tax norms for a car which is less than 4 metre in length is quite relaxed which has lead the company to come out with this new concept.

A hatchback version of the Ambassador is also in the planning stage. Further the company has ideas to refresh the interior with some new features for the Ambassador. This refreshed version of the car may hit the roads by 2014.
