Yamaha———s 5th Global R&D Centre in India

Yamaha, the Japanese two-wheeler giant announced of setting up of its 5th global research and development centre in India, to produce low-cost auto models in the world, in future.

The new establishment Yamaha Motor Research and Development India Private Limited (YMRI) was established at Surajpur, Uttar Pradesh, in February this year.

YMRI Managing Director, Toshikazu Kobayashi told reporters, "Our objective is to develop the lowest cost model in the world and lowest cost parts in the world, which will also be exported to across the world,". The first step will be to develop the world's lowest cost model this year, followed by an India-specific model, he added.

"This will be followed by a global model in future," Kobayashi said. Yamaha Motor is a well-known Japanese two-wheeler automotive brand that brings the joy of driving to millions of people worldwide. Yamaha is a popular two-wheeler brand in India. The company produces bikes for both domestic and export purpose.
