Mahindra Tractors Sales Jump by 38 percent During April 2013

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Farm Equipment Sector has started off the financial year with a positive note. The company has registered a sales hike of 38 percent during the month in comparison with its sales performance during same month of previous year.

Mr. Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive, Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. spoke about the performance of the company to say, “We are happy with the 38% growth which we have achieved during April 2013. We feel that this is on the back of improved market sentiments. In addition the expectation of a normal monsoon is clearly being seen as a positive indicator.”

Domestic sales for Mahindra Tractors in April 2013 showed a 38% growth for the first time since November 2012. The domestic sales stood at 22,196 units, as against 16,049 units during April 2012. Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) in April 2013 stood at 23,202 units, as against 16,800 units for the same period last year, registering a growth of 38%. Exports for the month of April 2013 stood at 1,006 units, also showing a growth of 34% over April 2012.
