With sales hike during the first four months, 2013 seems to be a good year for the Indian automaker Hindustan Motors. The company has witnessed year-on-year sales growth by 104 percent, 166 percent and 24 percent during the months of January, February and March respectively. Its April, 2013 sales of 534 units has let it continue its growth with 90 percent increase when compared to sales figures during same month of previous year.
Speaking about the performance of Hindustan Motors, company’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Uttam Bose, stated, “Operational excellence, improvement in quality based on customer feedback and foraying into remote markets, which were hitherto untapped, are some of the measures which have contributed to continuous rise in HM’s sales during the past four months. The growth is all the more encouraging as it is happening despite a general downturn in the passenger car segment across the country. We know that challenges like general economic slowdown, high interest rates and low buyer sentiment are quite formidable for the entire automobile industry, especially the passenger car segment. However, Hindustan Motors is all set to introduce its BS IV-compliant Ambassador by June-end.”
Hindustan Motors currently produces Ambassador in 1500 cc and 2000 cc diesel versions and 1800 cc petrol, CNG and LPG versions for the passenger vehicle segment and Winner for commercial vehicle segment.
