Jaguar, epitome of luxury cars, is likely to launch the new F-Type in coming July. Part of the India auto giant Tata Motors, Jaguar has been making a mark for itself in the luxury segment. The convertible sports car will give drivers superior road performance and excellent driving experience.
F-Type has created quite a buzz among auto experts; it has captured the imagination of auto enthusiasts and experts alike. The motor car is recognised as the 2013 World car design of the year. Ian Callum, Director of Design for Jaguar, commenting on the achievement said, “No design project has given me greater pleasure than the creation of the F-Type. It’s a project I’ve looked forward to from the moment I joined Jaguar, and it’s one that’s given my team and I great satisfaction. The F-Type is a sports car that is true to Jaguar’s design values – beauty of line and purity of form – and I’m honoured that the World Car of the Year jury has recognised our work with this award.”
In terms of design, the new F-Type features clamshell bonnet, distinct tail light, four-cornered mouth at the front. At the rear, the car features sloping tail with LED lights. The luxury car will be powered by V6 and V8 engines in India. The models V6 S and V8 S (CBU) are expected to be priced between Rs. 1.3 – Rs. 1.5 crore. The increase in price range is impacted by recent hike in import duty on cars from 75 percent to 100 percent in the current fiscal, as compared to last fiscal year.
The V6 S model will produce a massive power of 379 bhp and top-speed of 275 km/h electronically. The V8 S will have maximum power of 494 bhp and maximum speed of 300 km/h. Both the models will have 8-speed automatic gearbox.
