Mr. Seb Houisse (32) and Ms. Soiziclasne (30), a French couple, have been on a world tour for the past 10 months. While on their trip, they made a brief stop at the Volkswagen Pune Plant in Chakan. The couple started their journey in July 2012 and till now they have visited around 15 countries discovering new places and cultures.

On a sabbatical from work for a year, Mr. Houisse and Ms. Soiziclasne started their journey last year and so far have visited USA, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Vietnam. The couple are having the best time of their lives on the road trip in the ‘Combi’, their 1966 Volkswagen Vanagon, shipping it only between continents. The 47 year old vehicle (for now 8 years owned by Mr. Houisse) has been modified for the World Road Trip with a 1.8-litre engine (originally a 1.5-litre engine) and a gearbox from the Beetle, rest everything is original.

The couple started their Indian journey from Chennai in April 2013. Covering places like Chennai, Gujarat, Jaipur, Agra, Himachal Pradesh to witness different cultures, they came to Pune to visit the Volkswagen Pune Plant in Chakan, the hometown of Volkswagen in India.

Commenting on their visit to the Volkswagen Pune Plant in Chakan, Mr. Seb Houisse and Ms. Soiziclasne said, “We were happy and delighted to be here. This is the only Volkswagen Plant we have visited in our life and we received a very warm welcome. We were given the golden opportunity of a short plant tour to get a glimpse of the German engineering by Volkswagen in India. It was an awesome experience to know the elements that go in the making of a Volkswagen car in India and international level of quality that is maintained. Our 1966 ‘Combi’ is just the perfect example of how long the life of a quality car could be.”

The couple will be crossing borders to move to their next destination Iran, en route they also plan to visit Turkey. Everyone who wants to follow the French Couple on their World Road Trip can do this under www.leroadtrip.com/le-road-trip/ or on Facebook (Le Road Trip).
