Maruti Alto has been in the top place for a long time in India. But now the top slot went to Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, the choice also reflects Indian consumers’ preference for slightly bigger cars even in the entry level. This shift of consumer buying trend will definitely bring profit to the popular auto brand in India – Maruti, as the Swift DZire (Rs. 5 – Rs. 7 lakh) is costlier than Alto (Rs. 3+ lakh).
Maruti Suzuki COO (marketing & sales) Mayank Pareek commented, "DZire is proving us right. We had perceived five years ago the demand for compact sedan would be strong enough with customers propelling it in their pursuit to upgrade to bigger cars, which led to the creation of this new car that has emerged as such a strong product."
Since its launch in 2008, the Swift DZire has performance well in the Indian auto industry. But with the emergence of the second generation Swift DZire last year, the sales performance have been outstanding selling 15,000 units per month, which recently touched 17,000 units.
Maruti, the most trusted auto brand in India has continued to win consumers confidence since its introduction in India. Despite huge competition from various top-class auto makers, the Maruti brand still continues to win love and adoration from its consumers.
