Build on Renault’s Logan platform, the hatch shares 80 percent common parts with its elder sedan sibling, the Verito.
The hatch, Verito, comes in 1.5 litre DCI diesel engine option only. And Mahindra has no future plans to introduce petrol version of the new Verito Vibe. With the launch of the Verito Vibe and existing Verito sedan, the auto major is planning to cater to 1 million units, in the Indian compact car segment.
Pawan Goenka, president, automotive & farm equipment sector Mahindra & Mahindra said: "With the launch of Vibe we will be catering to a larger pie of compact car space. Most of the sub-4 metre cars have been derived from a hatchback, which leads to compromising on space but since the Vibe has been created out of a sedan, it offers the best in class space and features and offers significant value to the customers." He further expressed, the company has no further plans to add more cars except the electric version of the Verito.
The new Verito is available in D2, D4 & D6, and delivers a fuel efficiency of 20.8 kmpl and has a boot space of 330 litres. The hatch will be available in seven attractive colours and comes with rich safety features such as engine immobiliser, ABS with EBD, airbags etc.
