Having a portfolio consisting of handful of cars and allying with the French car maker Renault, Nissan has major plans of growth in Indian market in the coming years. As part of the plan, the brand will be launching a SUV named Terrano in the country by the end of 2013 or beginning of 2014. Nissan Terrano expected to be priced slightly above the Renault Duster will be competing with other compact SUVs and SUVs of Indian market which fall in the price range Rs. 7 lakh to Rs. 15 lakh.

Terrano, a name comparatively new to Indians has been the name of some of the top-selling SUVs of Nissan in various markets including Europe and North America. However speculations are that the Indian version of the Terrano will be based on the basic Duster model. The images released by the company on 11th June, 2013 suggest that the car will be bolder in design compared to Duster. The SUV will be produced in the Oragadam plant of the Japanese car maker which will keep the price of the vehicle low. The car is expected to bring about a major change in Nissan’s position in Indian market.
