HCIL to Recall 42,672 Units of 2nd Generation Honda City

As a preventive measure, Honda Cars India Limited will do part replacement of Power Window Switch in 42,672 vehicles of the second generation Honda City, produced in the year 2007 and 2008. The auto major will proactively replace Power Window Switch to prevent malfunction incase water or any other liquid enters the driver side window.

There is no report of any problem arising out of Power Window Switch malfunction in any part of India. Honda India is carrying out the part replacement purely as a preventive measure. The whole replacement will be free of cost at Honda Cars India Limited dealership spread across India. Individual auto consumers will be contacted by the company in a phased manner.

Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) has planned to carry out the replacement of Power Window Switch, as per global exercise to ensure strict quality standards for its auto products. None of the 3rd generation Honda City cars are affected, which are currently sold in India and does not require any part replacement. Honda Jazz in India will not be affected by global recall.
