Maruti Suzuki India recorded 12.6% slide in its June total sales figure, selling up to 84,455 vehicles. India's largest auto manufacturer has sold 96,597 units in the corresponding month previous year. Export division of Maruti Suzuki India too declined by 43% selling 7,453 units from 13,066 units, in the same period last year. Even in the brand's mini segment, auto cars including the A-Star, Alto, M800 and WagonR recorded declined by 8.4 percent.
The auto maker also witnessed sales figure lowered from 22,624 units in June, 2012 to 20,996 units in June 2013, in the compact segment. Cars like the Estilo, Swift and Ritz models falls under the compact segment. Total sales of Maruti DZire also declined from 13,741 units to 12,548 units in June, 2013. Maruti Kizashi witnessed no sales in June 2013, as compared to 6 units sold in June 2012.
Maruti cars in India recorded slide in sales figure across various segments - utility vehicles, vans, passenger car, in June 2013, as compared to previous year during the corresponding month. Auto sales in India in general, has been declining and this is due to overall low growth rate in India, slowing demand and troubled economic situations reported abroad.
