The V6 S generates maximum power of 375 bhp and the V8 S will churn out 488 bhp of power. The sports car looks super cool and is likely to deliver superior drive experience and speed on road. The V6 S comes with a price tag of Rs. 1.37 crore and the V8 S is available at Rs. 1.61 crore.
Jaguar Land Rover India Vice President Rohit Suri said: "The launch of F TYPE is significant for Jaguar as we are looking at a lot of premeditated spin-off benefits, primarily because of the exclusive nature of the product. It will enhance the appeal of the Jaguar brand in India." Sports cars market in India is still in the growing stage and Jaguar is not looking for volumes while coming up with the F-Type model. "The primary objective of launching the F-TYPE is not for volumes but to showcase technology and take it as a halo product with other products benefiting from it," commented Suri.
JLR assembles the Land Rover Freelander 2 and the Jaguar XF sedan in India and when asked whether the company is looking forward to assemble more models, Suri answered: "Yes, we are continuously evaluating opportunities based on how good the volumes are." However, no specific model names were shared. JLR has reported 68% growth during April-June quarter this fiscal. The XF sedan is the major contributor to the growing sales figure. Jaguar F-Type will compete against Porsche Boxster and 911.
