Nissan, the Japanese auto major aims to sell 100,000 units of car this year, which is more than double of its sales in India. The auto maker is targeting to sell 2,000 to 2,500 cars in a month with the launch of new cars such as face-lifted Micra and Active range.
Hover Automotive India Pvt. Ltd Vice President (Sales) Sunil Madalla told: "We are targeting sales of 100,000 cars this year, this would be two and a half times more year on year. We have sold around 37,000 units last year." Hover Automotive India Private Limited is the only distributor for Nissan cars in India, the organisation is also responsible for handling dealer development, sales and marketing, management, customer management and after sales.
Nissan operates through franchise based showroom and has 95 sales outlets in 77 cities, across the nation. It is expected to expand in the tier III cities as well. Nissan cars in India are popular for its urban oriented design and features. With economic growth not showing a positive sign, it will take some time to see whether Nissan will be able to achieve its set sales target.
