Honda Companies Donated Rs. 3 Crore for Flood Affected People in Uttarakhand

Honda Motor Company announced a contribution of Rs. 3 crore, for the relief and recovery efforts of flood affected people in Uttarakhand. The amount is contributed to provide relief and rehabilitation of affected people and reconstruction of areas devastated by flood and landslides that hit Uttarakhand in June 2013. The company handed over the cheques to Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Mr. Vijay Bahuguna, in Dehradun on 11th July 2013.

Mr. Yoshiyuki Matsumoto, Managing Officer, Honda Motor Co. and President & CEO, Honda Motor India commenting on the severity of the devastation said: “We express condolences and deepest sympathy to all the affected people who lost their near and dear ones, their homes and their livelihoods in this colossal calamity. We hope that this contribution will help in restoration of the devastated infrastructure and help rebuild lives of the affected people."

Group companies of Japanese multinational - Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., Honda Cars India Ltd., Honda Siel Power Products Ltd., Honda Motor India Pvt. Ltd. and Honda R&D (India) Pvt. Ltd. have contributed towards the reconstruction and recovery of the flood affected region. Additional voluntary contributions have also been made by Honda’s employees and dealers in the country.
