Jaguar XJ Portfolio Gets New Engine

Luxury sports car maker Jaguar has loaded a new petrol engine in its XJ model. The Portfolio variant of the luxury sedan gets this petrol motor which is smaller than all other engines available in variants of XJ. This 2.0L, 4-cylinder, Turbocharged engine is said to bring the refinement levels and performance that is expected from a 6-cylinder unit. It is built with some sophisticated technologies like advanced low-inertia turbocharging, direct fuel injection at high pressure and twin variable valve timing. All these advanced technologies are expected to give better fuel economy and performance. This new variant gets the same type of transmission system available with other Jaguar XJ models, which is the 8-speed automatic transmission unit.

The maximum power rating for this new engine is 236.7 bhp @ 5500 rpm and peak torque is rated as 340 Nm @ 1750 rpm. The vehicle weighs 2265 kg with 2.0L motor which is about 55 to 105 kg less than the weight with 3.0L petrol and diesel and 5.0L Supercharged petrol engine. The top-speed of this luxury car with this new powertrain is 225 km/h and 0-100 km/h takes 7.5 seconds in this model.
