GM India announced Sail (both sedan and compact car) and Tavera BS III production will be resumed by the end of July and August, 2013. Both the model productions were suspended due to quality issue last month. However, petrol variant of Sail and Tavera BS IV remains unaffected.
General Motors India Vice-President P Balendran said: "We will start production of Sail HB (hatchback) & NB (notchback) diesels by end of July and Tavera by end of August." General Motors India has identified a potential emission performance issue with Tavera BS III and quality issue with Sail HB (Hatchback) and NB (Notchback) diesel variants.
