HMSI Rolls Out First Batch of Honda Activa

HMSI has rolled out the first batch of Honda Activa (India’s Largest Selling Automatic Scooter) from its Narsapura Plant, District Kolar (Karnataka). Honda has started production in the second line at the third plant (Narsapura). In the earlier part of June 2013, the company’s third plant started production of Honda’s 110cc mass motorcycle Dream Yuga at the first line. In Phase I, the 3rd plant produces 12 lakh units and aiming to increase an additional 6 lakh units, which will make Honda’s third plant production capacity to 18 lakh units by the end of this fiscal year. This will increase Honda’s production capacity this fiscal from 28 lakh units (FY 13) to 46 lakh (FY 14).

Since 1970 till today, Road Safety Promotion has been one of Honda's top priorities worldwide (36 countries). Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has adopted Traffic Training Park in Delhi at Roshanara Bagh, setting up another landmark in road safety promotion. Honda’s Lifetime Safety Education in association with Delhi Traffic Police will daily engage all age groups starting from as young as 5 years to adults with a special focus on new and female riders. Theoretical sessions and riding trainer, will aid young people above 13 years of age to experience over 100 possible dangers on road. This is Honda’s second such association within 6 months of adopting the Jaipur Traffic Training Park. In 2013, Fortune India has recognised Honda as the one of the ‘Most Admired Company in the Indian Auto industry’. Interestingly, Honda is the only two-wheeler auto company to make it to be Top 5 auto companies list for 2013.
