Maruti Suzuki India production for the month of July went up by 31.07 percent manufacturing a total of 99,236 units, in its endeavour to push sales in current tough market conditions. Last July, the car maker had produced 75,709 units. Production in the company's mini compact segment has increased by 19.15% to 43,313 units, as compared to 36,349 units manufactured in the same period last year.
The auto manufacturer has increased production in the compact segment by 56.46% to 20,621 units of cars from 13,179 units produced last year. Maruti’s compact segment comprises of vehicles such as Estilo, Ritz and Swift. Coming to the sedan segment, the largest auto maker of India has manufactured a total of 21,613 units as compared to 11,590 units produced last year.
In June 2013, the Indian automobile industry recorded negative growth for straight eighth months. And to cope with the impact of slow growth, auto majors have tried ways to attract customers by offering discounts and flexible ownership schemes with little positive outcome. By increasing production across segments Maruti Suzuki India is trying to improve its lacklustre sales figure recorded in last few months.
