Hyundai has decided to take bring its new player to the hatchback arena this September by rolling out the Grand i10. The i10 which has been a strong contender in entry-level hatchback segment for past six years, has made way for the sportier and more jazzy Grand i10 and it carries a new diesel engine, which is most desirable owing to the present day scenario.
Hyundai will be rolling out this car on 3rd of September, 2013 and the hatchback will fit the slot between Hyundai i20 and Hyundai i10. The small car will be also be having the same 1.2L Kappa motor which has widely been acknowledged in the sub-continent for its performance and fuel economy. The diesel version will have a 1.1L motor with Variable Geometry Turbocharger for better power output.
Designers at Hyundai have worked on the outlook of the Grand i10 and the car portrays European design traits with side-body cladding, roof rails and newly styled headlamps and tail lamps. Positioned between the i10 and i20 the petrol variant of this new car may carry a basic price tag of Rs. 4.2 lakh to Rs. 4.6 lakh. The diesel version will be priced above the petrol variant. With both petrol and diesel engine options, the Grand i10 will certainly spice up competition in Indian hatchback segment.
