Audi India seems to stay immune to the current slowdown which has shadowed the Indian auto industry by recording 19% growth in the first six months of 2013. The German luxury car maker has sold a total of 5,551 units of vehicles in the first-half of this year. Commenting on the success, Mr. Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India said: “First half of the year was truly successful for us as our focused growth strategy enabled us to continue positive growth even as market remained under pressure. The second half of the year has again started off for us on a good note, however we did not show our full potential due to some supply constraints, but we are confident of maintaining growth despite a price hike across models. We are consolidating our leadership on a solid foundation of clear customer promise, expanded product offering and strengthened dealership network.”
The German auto major has achieved impressive growth not just in India but also in the United States, United Kingdom, China and Japan. Audi India, in its endeavour to expand its product portfolio in India has recently launched the Audi S6 and Audi RS 5 Coupe. With new car launches, the Indian customers are getting more attractive choices in the luxury car segment. Audi cars in India are rapidly winning more customer bases mostly from young urban customers across the nation.
