Mini, a British automobile marque owned by BMW, is all set for the world premiere of its new car on the birthday of the man who designed the first Mini way back in 1959. On November 18th, 2013, the 107th birthday of Sir Alec Issigonis, the Oxford plant of the company will premiere the new Mini. The car will also be exhibited at Los Angeles Motor Show, U.S.A and Tokyo Motor Show, Japan on 20th November, 2013. The small car will be sold across the globe during the first quarter of 2014.
This new Mini, which will be produced at Oxford plant, is expected to set new benchmarks in small car platform as far as in-car entertainment systems and use of premium quality materials in the interior are concerned. The original principles which carved out a special position for the first Mini in the automobile world, back in 1959, will continue to work in the new car but in modern form. Designed by Sir Alec Issigonis, the remarkable front-wheel drive design of the first Mini made the cabin extremely spacious for the consumers, then. The small car quickly gained popularity because of its design and performance.
