While the Honda Civic had bid goodbye in India, in Europe it is a major part of Honda's line-up. However the Civic sold in Europe is completely different and a lot sleeker than the Civic that was sold here. In latest news Honda has just revealed pictures and details of its new Civic Tourer. To debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show the Civic Tourer is basically an estate version of the new Civic.
Estates normally place practicality over style the Civic Tourer does not and looks really good. In the Civic Tourer the glass of the rear quarter window has been extended to cover the body work of the D-pillar and the rear door sash has been raised by 17mm compared to the Civic hatchback.
It has also got Honda’s 'Magic Seats' which have a range of seating configurations. The new Civic Tourer has a 60:40 split in the seat base which means more options for carrying both people and luggage plus it provides an alternative load area if access via the tailgate is limited. When it comes to boot space there is 624 litres of it with the rear seats in place and if you want more, the space increases to 1668 litres with the rear seats folded down.
The Civic Tourer will be available with the choice of two engines including the new 1.6 i-DTEC engine from the Earth Dreams Technology series and the 1.8 i-VTEC engine.
The new Civic Tourer will be launched in Europe in early 2014.
