Mr. R N Rao Appointed as Director (Sales and Marketing) for Asia Motor Works

Asia Motor Works (AMW) is the third largest heavy commercial vehicle manufacturer in India. On 13th August, 2013, the company announced appointment of Mr. R N Rao as Director for Sales and Marketing. Mr. Rao has extensive experience in the heavy vehicle segment and will be responsible for service, sales, marketing and product development. He will be working from AMW’s corporate office in the financial capital city of India – Mumbai. Prior to joining AMW, Mr. Rao has worked with Lucas TVS and Ashok Leyland, and served in several management positions. He carries over 30 years of rich experience in the industry and had worked on many national and regional assignments. Mr. Anirudh Bhuwalka, Managing Director & CEO, AMW said: ‘Mr. Rao’s rich experience in the commercial vehicles industry in India will help AMW achieve its aggressive plans of growth.’

AMW Motors has achieved a unique position in the Indian transportation sector through innovative engineering and customer orientation. The company occupies third position in the heavy commercial vehicles segment and is the fastest growing truck brand in India with over 100 percent annual growth in the last three years. AMW has a wide range of products in the Commercial Vehicles segment in India and its vehicles are most preferred in arduous road and load conditions – construction, infrastructure and mining sectors. AMW Motors has a widespread dealership and service network across India with 123 dealerships and 1,500+ touch points. AMW’s tippers are very popular and its 49 ton truck created a new segment in the Indian CV market. AMW’s manufacturing facility is located in Bhuj, Gujarat and has the capacity of manufacturing up to 50,000 commercial vehicles annually. In its efforts to produce better vehicles, AMW has established a 200-seat research centre dedicated to research and development for creating new products with enhanced performance, safety features, comfort and environment friendly.
