The Skoda Yeti despite being a talented SUV has not managed to set the sales charts on fire like the Renault Duster. Worldwide this Skoda SUV has garnered tons of praise and rightly so as yours truly also thinks it is one of the best SUV's to buy in India. Now the Yeti has been around for a long time and no major update has been given with the exception of the launch of the 4x2 version a long time back.
This could do the trick as this is the facelifted Skoda Yeti having some small but crucial updates done. From the pictures you can clearly see that the basic shape is the same but the front end has been completely changed.
With the new Yeti there are two versions. There is the Skoda Yeti for the city and the Skoda Yeti for the outdoors. The differences at the front and at the back are in the bumpers, under side guard, side mouldings and door sills which are either in the body colour or, as is with the Skoda Yeti outdoor version, in black plastic.
Back to the looks and the front has a new grille, redesigned headlights plus now you get the option of Bi-Xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. Also you might notice that the front headlights are now rectangular and are now located further under the front bumpers.
Move to the rear and there is a new tailgate with re-designed tail lights now in moulded C-Design, available with LEDs as an option. Plus in line with the new Skoda look, there are two triangular elements alongside the new Skoda logo. Other changes include new alloy wheel designs and four new metallic colours – ‘Moon-White’, ‘Jungle-Green’, ‘Metal-Grey’ and ‘Magnetic-Brown’. The latter is only for the Yeti L&K model.
On the inside there is a new 3-spoke steering wheel plus new fabric and patterns for the seat covers. Not exactly big changes as you can see. However a big change is the addition of the rear-view camera which is optional.
Worldwide the Yeti has seven engine options with three petrol’s and four diesels and we will see it at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
