Say Hello to the new BMW M4 Coupe Concept

By   |   16 August,2013

From the pictures we may not know how good the new BMW M4 Coupe Concept will drive but it surely looks good. While the name reads 'Concept' the production version is expected to look just as wicked. The new BMW M4 Coupe Concept continues on from the handsome 4-Series coupe which itself is quite new.

“The BMW Concept M4 Coupe reflects the BMW M philosophy in ideal form: It combines motor racing genes and unrestricted everyday suitability in a highly emotional overall concept. For four generations, the BMW M3 has put motor racing on the road and the BMW Concept M4 Coupe consistently continues to pursue this fundamental idea. The new model designation “M4” refers – like all other BMW M automobiles – to the series on which this concept car is based,” explains Dr. Friedrich Nitschke, President BMW M Division.

Finished in this unique "Aurum Dust” colour the M4 Coupe Concept looks brilliant. You get large air inlets at the front plus the use of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastics) elements such as the front splitter, the roof, or the rear diffuser which make it standout as a track monster. The front is quite striking with its twin round headlamps with LED's and a black kidney grille.

Elsewhere you will also love the M double spoke design of the BMW M wheels (20” M light alloys), the CFRP roof (reduces weight) and the rear spoiler lip which is integrated into the boot lid.

One more detail on the car which you might make out is the redesigned M gill. On the Concept M4 Coupe, the M gills have the Air Breather function, which together with the Air Curtain within the front apron actually ventilate the wheel arches and make for better airflow which is very important.

No word yet on the exact power or other major details but there is no doubt that this is one tasty 'M' car.
