Volvo captured complete attention of the audiences at the Concept Coupe media presentation held in Gothenburg, Sweden, by showcasing many teaser pictures of the 2015 Volvo XC90. The upcoming SUV looked stunning even in the darkened pictures with the brand’s new signature headlamps featuring T-shaped Daytime Running Lights (DRL), rear view with LED tail lights and the touchscreen infotainment system placed right at the center console.
The Volvo XC90 SUV is to hit auto markets by late 2014. The auto major has confirmed its first production model will be developed under China’s Geely. The SUV will be built on the Swedish’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform and powertrain will be derived from the recently launched Drive-E Engines. It will also be loaded with amazing safety features such as Animal Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control with Steer Assist and Road Edge & Barrier Detection with Steer Assist.
The auto manufacturer stated at the Gothenburg event that after the XC90 launch, it will present the replacements of S80 and V70 as S90 sedan and V90 estate. Volvo is slowly and steadily creating its space in the Indian auto market. Featuring safety technologies and equipment, Volvo has established itself well in Sweden, China, United States, Germany, Belgium and the United Kingdom. In July 2013, the company’s global sales stood at 33,650 units, as compared to 29,505 units last year, which is 14% higher.
