BMW 1-Series Launched in India

BMW has launched its much awaited new entry-level compact luxury hatch in India - the 1-Series. Available in diesel and petrol engines, the hatch is powered by 1.6L turbo petrol engine that spews out 136 bhp of power and 2.0L turbo diesel engine which generates 143 bhp of maximum power.

Both the variants are mated to ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox. BMW 1-Series base petrol variant comes with a price tag of Rs. 20.90 lakh. The compact hatchback comes with four driving modes - Eco Pro, Sport, Comfort and Sport+.

BMW 1-Series’s petrol 116i is available only in the base trim level whereas the diesel 118d is available in both Sport Line and Sport Plus trims. The base trim gets a wide array of features - automatic headlights, a start/stop button, a CD player with aux-in compatibility, rear parking sensors, fog lights, Eco mode, 16-inch alloy wheels, BMW’s Brake Energy Regeneration, ABS and six airbags.

The 118d Sport Line features a sliding front armrest, dual-zone climate control, a hands-free facility with USB interface, BMW’s iDrive controller and electric seat adjust with memory. On the other hand, the 118d Sport Plus comes loaded with features such as rear air-con vents, keyless go and a sunroof. It also brings a larger 17-inch alloy wheels.

For first 100 customers there is also the 'BMW Service Inclusive Plus' .
